I want to thank the amazing crew of people who put this film together. Thanks to Daniel Shedd who wrote an incredible, eye opening story…. And to Nate Champion for bringing the character to life and all of the “crew” that assembled to create this special film.
This story has so much meaning behind it. It begs the question “what is our mission”? What is our “calling”? We owe an incredible debt of gratitude to all of the men and women down through history who have bravely defended this great land and done all in their power to preserve the “safety of this shore.” Many have paid a high price so that we have the freedoms we have. So we say thank you to our veterans and honor them.
We live in a world that is so divided. We can’t see past the color of some one’s skin, the language they speak, the religion they practice, their sexual preference, or their political views. We live in a world where it seems as if I don’t agree with you, then you intensely dislike me. A world full of hate – a world full of violence. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. We still have a purpose and a calling to keep the “safety of this shore.”
Photographs played an important role in our film and a quote from our film points us to the solution of conquering the great divide in our country. A photograph is worth a thousand words, but only if someone is willing to listen. And not just listen, but listen with love. Listen with the intention of compromise. Sounds simplistic, yes, but we must start somewhere. I am willing to be a part of the process.
Patriotism isn’t just for me, it is for you and you and you. The safety found in this shore isn’t just for me, but for you and you and you. Let our differences not divide us, let them only diversify us. Let us show compassion without compromise of convictions. Let this film be an experience that starts the process in each and every one of us. Listening with love, it is the key.
